Literature Text

Sometimes it doesn't hurt to be alone
Often, it can be pure boredom
A need for social interaction can
Be a pleasurable freedom

But what great ballads were written aloud
Or military strike exclaimed
When in prayer silence houses the soul
As any religion so famed

Surely the passions of the world hidden
Beneath the ground, the sea, the mind
Is given great power of mystery
Of not what is, but left behind

Outspoken, power is shared among us
The tree of knowledge expended
And then silence once again sweeps the land
As if no forest existed

Which leaves the unexplainable culture
Of our kind wonder endlessly
While giving strength to unknown orchards, we
Continue to seek mindlessly

So why do I tell this to you instead
Of you figuring it yourself?
Perhaps to plant a seed in high hopes
Imagination fire engulf
Written during training and finished on March 21, 2014. A poem that invokes deep thought in the reader
